We are witnessing the dynamic of polarization – as if we were watching a photograph turn from all gray to bright whites and deep blacks. Virtually everything about mid-20th century America was seen as Christian. Every president was considered Christian, and every presidential candidate was considered Christian, every party was considered to stand on a Judea-Christian bedrock of morality. 

On the other hand, there was a grayness about Christian America. Though most every leader was considered Christian, virtually none spoke of being born again, and virtually none seemed radically Christian. But since then, a process of polarization has come – on one hand a deepening falling away from the ways of God in mainstream culture – and on the other, increasingly visible born again believers, and candidates radical strongly and radically taking a stand for Messiah and the word of God – polarization. 

This is not to put our trust in man or politics, but at the same time, we cannot avoid witnessing a clear progression – a polarization of the political spectrum and parties. On one hand, we’ve witnessed one political party increasingly adopting such anti-biblical positions as the killing of the unborn, the wrestling of marriage away from its biblical definition, the endorsement of laws that threaten religious liberty, and even a cooling in support for Israel. 

On the other hand, we have witnessed the other political party increasingly adopt such biblical positions as upholding the sanctity of life and marriage, the protection of religious liberty, and a strong stand in support of the nation of Israel. 

Leaving the candidates aside, this year the platforms of the two parties could not have been more polarized along biblical lines. The Republican platform was the strongest platform ever in support of life, marriage, religious liberty, and Israel. 

The Democratic platform was perhaps the most brazenly anti-biblical in history. One of its most important, and dangerous propositions – that every believer should be aware of was for the first time ever, the call to repeal the Hyde Amendment. The Hyde Amendment, in effect since 1976, bans the use of federal funds for the killing of the unborn – abortion. If the Democrats win a decisive victory in November, it will likely mean that the tax dollars paid by every American, and every believer, will be used to fund the killing of the unborn – thus making us all guilty in their deaths. Keep in mind, this is the sin, the killing of little children, for which God brought judgment and destruction on ancient Israel.

What must we do? Pray, intercede, seek the Lord for His mercy on this land, and revival. And if evil is removing the grays from its midst to become utterly dark – then it is time for the good, for us, to remove the grays from our lives, to become totally bright.
This month, make it your aim to remove any darkness and gray from your walk and life – to become utterly bright. And let us keep interceding for this nation. And may God greatly bless you as you do!
